Sometimes we need a little help to face certain problems, challenges or difficulties in life.
Psychotherapy is a talking therapy. It’s a non-judgemental space where it’s possible to really be heard and understood, to explore different experiences and to increase awareness of what’s going on for us, and our relationships with others. Ultimately, engaging in the process can help us to live more authentically, more fully in the present.
I‘m an integrative therapist with a doctorate in psychotherapy, and a broad training background in various other approaches (e.g. cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion focussed therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy).
I have extensive experience mostly in the NHS and private practice but also in the third sector.
I take an inclusive, non-pathologising view of gender and sexuality and recognise the broad range of gender, sexual, and relationship diversities (GSRD).
Even though there are many different types of psychotherapy, when looking for someone to work with, one of the most important things to help you know who to choose, is that you feel really comfortable talking to them, and feel heard.
I take a pluralistic perspective and have an interest in a range of different theoretical and practical ideas. I recognise the importance of evidence-based practice as well as practice-based evidence.
Experienced therapists draw on a range of theoretical and technical ideas depending on what you’ve said you want to get out of the work.
I am registered with both the UKCP and IPTUK.
I work full-time in the NHS during the week so my availability for private work is normally in the evenings, Monday to Friday.
I work is with adults 18+, individually, and either digitally (video) or face-to-face.
I am a member of Metanoia, and registered with the HIPS section of UKCP, and accredited with IPTUK. I am working towards accreditation with the BABCP.
